On March 22, 100 residents new and established came together to celebrate an inaugural
neighbourhood event in Chisholm ahead of Neighbour Day, which officially takes place on March 30.
Waterford by AVID Property Group (AVID), located in the rapidly growing Maitland region, is home to
nearly 5000 residents, many of whom are large families with deep ties to the local area.
To jointly celebrate Relationships Australia’s ‘Neighbours Every Day’ campaign and the arrival of the
community’s 1,400th purchaser, Waterford hosted one of AVID’s signature ‘Long Table Dinner events,
the national developer’s first in New South Wales.
AVID Project Director NSW Danny Boubli said the neighbourhood was proud to bring the community
together in the classic Australian spirit of ‘bringing a plate’.
“As a Relationships Australia certified ‘Very Neighbourly Organisation’, AVID has a long tradition of
hosting Long Table Dinners to bring our communities together.
“The Long Table Dinner is a chance for new and old neighbours to sit down over a meal and enjoy
genuine conversations and real human connection, remembering that Waterford thrives on these
bonds and a shared sense of belonging.
“AVID’s partnership with Relationships Australia is a key component of our core organisational pillar of
‘nurturing neighbourhoods’ and bringing neighbours together to learn, share, play, create and
celebrate through our AVIDEngage program,” Mr Boubli said.
Residents enjoyed the sounds of local musician Jake Folbigg, as well as delicious treats from
Newcastle catering specialists The Wilderness Chef and face painting, balloon twisting, glitter tattoos
and a magician for little locals to be entertained by.
Mr Boubli said the event was an important milestone for the growing community.
“The 1,400th purchaser is such a significant milestone for Waterford, and it has coincided with a lot of
exciting local news.
“Not only have we recently seen very consistent sales, but we’ve seen our neighbouring developer,
Revelop, break ground on their shopping centre a few weeks ago and community centre
developments located within Waterford,” Mr Boubli said.
