An estate in Palmview is proving popular with interstate buyers

A RETURN wave of interstate buyers has prompted the release of another parcel of land in the Sunshine Coast’s masterplanned community at Palmview, Harmony.

AVID Property Group general manager Queensland Bruce Harper said Harmony was experiencing the beginnings of a return wave of interstate buyers, which had triggered the release of Prosperity 3A.

“When Sydney and Melbourne house prices reach a certain price point difference, it triggers a movement of people from New South Wales and Victoria to sell up to take advantage of the cheaper Queensland prices — not to mention the relaxed lifestyle and warmer climate,” Mr Harper said.

“For seven years that wave had receded, but now house price differentials are at an all-time high and there are signs that the northern march of interstate migrants is starting to move again.

“South East Queensland is on the cusp of an interstate migration upswing that will boost the economy.”

Thompson Sustainable Homes director Brad Thompson said the company had designed a range of low and high set terrace homes to tap into the demand for sustainable housing on the coast.

“Our terrace homes embrace the Queensland weather with the internal layout designed to create airflow and breezeways, decreasing the need for airconditioning,” Mr Thompson said.

“The external design uses key energy efficient products and materials to reflect the harsh Queensland sun, without compromising the aesthetics of the house.”

Mr Harper said Harmony was committed to supporting local businesses, which is why they have the very best Sunshine Coast builders on board.

“Thompson Sustainable Homes innovative designs capture the best of Sunshine Coast living and align with our goal to create a sustainable community at Harmony,” he said.

“We’re proud that Harmony has become the first ‘6 Leaf’ EnviroDevelopment masterplanned community to be certified in South East Queensland by the Urban Development Institute of Australia.

“The six leaves recognise outstanding design and planning across the elements of ecosystems, waste, energy, materials, water and community.”
