BUILDING BOOMS AT MT COTTON VILLAGE

QUEENSLAND housing developer Villa World is witnessing the busiest phase ever at its Mt Cotton Village estate with 50 homes worth a total of $24 million underway.
Villa World development manager Peter Johnson said the current level of building activity was the most intense since work on the bayside community started in 2006.
Mr Johnson said sub-contractors were working hard to keep pace with demand for new houses in the estate, which is entering its later stages.
He said around 200 tradespeople were currently on site.
“Mt Cotton Village is certainly is a hive of activity at the moment with so many houses under construction at once,” he said.
“It reflects an upsurge in buyers that we’ve experience in recent months.”
Mr Johnson said buyers continued to be drawn to Mt Cotton Village’s strong ‘green’ element thanks to the estate’s bush setting.
“It’s a very leafy area nestled in bushland and doesn’t look like a housing estate,” he said.
“You can enjoy the peaceful semi-rural atmosphere while being in the heart of the Redlands district.”
Mr Johnson said interest in the community had gathered momentum as it entered its final stages.
“Really it’s the fact the project is at the tail end of its development that has prompted people to take a second look at Mt Cotton Village and ultimately commit to purchase,” he said.
“They recognise they no longer have the luxury of an extended development timeline – the window of opportunity is closing.”
A wide range of house-and-land options is available at Mt Cotton Village with prices starting at $460,000.
Mt Cotton Village is serviced by an array of public and private schools such as Mount Cotton State School, Sheldon College, Calvary Christian College and Chisholm Catholic College.
Residents have the recently expanded Mt Cotton Central shopping centre on their doorstep. The complex includes a 3200sqm IGA supermarket, bottle shop and café while major retail is a short drive away at Victoria Point or the Logan Hyperdome.
Mt Cotton Village’s display home precinct is located at the end of Hardwood Drive and is open Friday to Wednesday from 10am until 5pm.
