Developer Fosters Very Neighbourly Relationships

AVID Property Group (AVID) has been announced as a ‘Very Neighbourly Organisation’ (VNO) by Relationships Australia, recognising its significant community contributions and mission of bringing people together.

The leading developer was acknowledged by the not-for-profit for its commitment to fostering positive and respectful relationships – creating neighbourhoods where its residents can not only build their home but also build long lasting friendships and community ties.

AVID General Manager Queensland Anthony Demiris said the developer was honoured to be recognised and will continue to build communities that leave a legacy of more than just bricks and mortar – instead creating safe, vibrant and connected communities people can be proud to call home.

“Our aim at AVID is to create thriving communities that bring people together and foster environments where neighbours can enjoy meaningful relationships and experiences, creating a strong foundation for community life now and in the future,” Mr Demiris said.

“We believe in the importance of social connection and that the cornerstone of resilient communities is facilitating relationships and cultivating a sense of pride amongst residents in every one of our projects across Australia.

“We accelerate the natural process of connection through activating our communities and bring residents together both within their neighbourhood and beyond through our AVIDEngage program – hosting regular community events as well as connecting and engaging with our residents through online content.

“Through this program, we are able to break down barriers and support our residents to build long lasting relationships between neighbours which underpins each thriving community.”

All AVID communities are designed to include designated spaces for connection, including parks, cafes and walking and bicycle trails, that form the heart of its neighbourhoods and encourage connection amongst its residents.

AVID’s flagship community – Harmony on the Sunshine Coast – will be home to more than 13,000 residents upon completion and has already seen a significant network of community-minded residents become actively involved in local initiatives.

Harmony resident Carla Williams said her family have found it easy to experience belonging in the neighbourhood through the community led programs fostered by the developer.

“We have been living in Harmony for three years and absolutely love the community initiatives; we are a part of the community garden, I attend the community Full Body Fitness Bootcamp, my kids are on the local soccer team and attend the local primary school,” Ms Williams said.

“Our family frequents all of the local events, we love how close and connected the neighbourhood is to the broader Palmview community and we are all very happy to call Harmony home.”

AVIDEngage nationally connects AVID residents through a variety of community initiatives including a host of community events, a regular educational video series covering lifestyle and expert insights, and a commitment to supporting local community and environmental initiatives.
