Waterford by AVID Property Group has teamed up with their on-site café The Kitchen at Waterford to offer 50 free coffees to local teachers in celebration of World Teacher’s Day.
AVID NSW Project Director Danny Boubli said they are hoping to see lots of local teachers taking up this offer on their way to work on Friday 25 October.
“School holidays have recently ended and teachers across the country are onto the final term for the year, so we hope this is a chance for them to enjoy a nice morning coffee with their colleagues.
To redeem the free coffee, the first 50 teachers can flash their staff identification card at The Kitchen at Waterford which will be open from 7am to 2pm.
Mr Boubli said it is important to make an effort, whether it be big or small to recognise the incredible impact teachers have on the next generation of Maitland locals.
“Waterford is a hub for families, with many of our youngest residents attending the 5 schools and early learning centres all located within our neighbourhood.
“There are over 170,000 teachers across the state and this day is a wonderful opportunity to shine a light on these inspiring members of our community,” Mr Boubli said.
Over the past nine years, Waterford has provided support for numerous school activities including a weather study program with St Bede’s Catholic College, music programs with Thornton Public School, as well as continued support for Top Blokes Foundation’s school initiatives.
“Through our ongoing contributions to Top Blokes Foundation we have been delighted to support the delivery of their junior mentorship program at St Bede’s. The program covers a range of topics from mental health to masculinity, and anger management, allowing boys to become more vocal about their struggles and gain important male role models,” Mr Boubli said.
The Kitchen at Waterford owner Carolyn McIntyre said they are calling on the broader community to spread the word.
“If you know a teacher who would benefit from a delicious pick-me-up, get them to stop by The Kitchen early to make sure they don’t miss out.
“We are so excited to celebrate this day for all the teachers in our area,” Ms McIntyre said.
