Residents and locals will come together this weekend, Saturday 26 October, to celebrate the grand opening of Greenbank’s newest park in AVID Property Group (AVID) and Greenfields Development Company’s (Greenfields) residential development Covella.
The grand opening of Tivoli Park will be celebrated with a ‘Covella Hoedown’ themed event, attendees will enjoy a jam-packed schedule of events including an official ribbon-cutting ceremony with Logan City Councillor Natalie Wilcocks, free family-friendly activities, entertainment and food stalls.
Logan City Councillor Natalie Wilcocks said the new park in Covella would be enjoyed by Logan locals of all ages.
“One of the many features of the park I love is that all ages have been considered in this design from the swings, the rope climbing pyramid, and lots of other activity areas for the smaller kids,” Cr Wilcocks said.
“For the bigger kids, there is a great handball court, a flying fox – which is always lots of fun – and a large green space with goal posts that can be utilised for a variety of social sports.
“I’m sure local residents and visitors to our city will be enjoying the park for years to come.”
Nestled amongst native bushland, Tivoli Park is 7,235sqm of open green space, designed to bring residents and locals together through a blend of outdoor activities and relaxation spaces – offering something for everyone, no matter their age.
Chairman of the joint venture with Greenfields, AVID Executive General Manager Bruce Harper said the park opening was a key part of Covella’s masterplan to create a community focused on an active lifestyle and connection.
“Creating a sense of community from the start is key, we want people to feel at home as soon as they walk through the gates at Covella, we achieve this through thoughtfully designed shared spaces and an annual calendar of community activations and events,” Mr Harper said.
“Whether you want a quiet moment with nature, a game of handball in the park or just to get the family out and about, Covella’s Tivoli Park will be the perfect spot for everyone to enjoy.
“We expect to see at least 800 residents and locals join in this weekend’s celebrations, these events always popular as they provide an opportunity for neighbours to connect and celebrate their growing community.”
Covella is a 1,565-block community with 5,250 residents set to call the community home by its expected completion in 2027.
