New home designs splitting power bills at Brentwood Forest

While the mercury may be starting to rise, builders at Brentwood Forest are making sure the power bills don’t climb for residents opting to build a new split-level home.
The new split-level homes designed by local builders for AVID Property Group’s Brentwood Forest community at Bellbird Park are being built specifically to ease pressure on Queenslander wallets.
In Vision Homes Managing Director Roger Connell said split level homes, designed specifically for sloping blocks, take advantage of natural airflow, keeping the home cool in the summer.
“The main living area of a split-level home is traditionally even higher than the classic ‘Queenslander’ design, which means the important parts of the home have access to cool breezes,” Mr Connell said.
“Other two storey homes usually have a kitchen on the ground floor, which can cause heat to rise when you’re cooking a Sunday roast, however this isn’t an issue with split level homes.
“The ground levels are also very spacious, and most can easily fit a double garage along with a lot of storage.”
Mr Connell said split level homes are versatile and the ground floor could easily be converted to a granny flat or a rumpus room.
