Buyers are finding new ways to connect with their future neighbours, turning to social media as a means to build relationships prior to moving in.

Purchasers at Savana, an inspiring new residential community powered by AVID Property Group, are connecting via WhatsApp to keep in touch during the development phase.

After meeting when purchasing their lots in May 2016, the group of 25 buyers vowed to keep in touch. The WhatsApp group sees soon-to-be Savana residents digitally growing their community to ensure a smooth transition once move-in day arrives.

Sandeep Singh and his wife Kulwinder Kaur have enjoyed sharing the journey with their newly found friends and neighbours.

Since connecting via WhatsApp, we’ve also started a Facebook group for the residents of Savana, a platform that we can continue to use once we settle in,” says Mr. Sandeep.

The virtual group isn’t just connecting Melburnians, it’s building relationships with Savana buyers originally from New South Wales, including first home owners and young families.

General Manager of AVID Property Group, Paul O’Brien, says they’ve seen a definite increase in the number of Sydneysiders relocating to Melbourne in search of an affordable investment that’s close to transport.

IT Specialist, Ankur Dhir, says he is making the move to Melbourne this year to break into the property market after facing challenges in New South Wales surrounding a suitable location and soaring house prices.
