AVID NSW officially welcomed the #Take3fortheSea movement to Maitland on Friday 26 October, with more than 650 locals turning out across the weekend to join in on the series of Take 3 events, powered by AVID.
AVID Property Group New South Wales Project Director Nathan Huon said the Harvest and Waterford teams were thrilled with the turnout to the local events and were all eager to expand their environmental legacy by encouraging the reduction of plastic pollution in the local waterways.
“Sustainability is important here at AVID, with our local teams genuinely committed to creating a cleaner environment for future generations – both within our communities and in the surrounding region,” Mr Huon said.
“AVID is pleased to support the Take 3 movement, which allows us to positively impact all of our residential communities along the eastern seaboard as well as Waterford and Harvest – the first of our communities in New South Wales to host Take 3 events.”
On Friday 26 October, AVID and Take 3 visited St Aloysius Catholic Primary School in Chisholm, where Take 3 co-founder Tim Silverwood presented to more than 500 students on the issue of plastic pollution and the message behind #Take3.
“We are at a point in time where schools, businesses and the wider community need to work together to protect the environment for our future,” Mr Silverwood said.
“The entire Take 3 team, including myself, is thrilled to partner with a company that is committed to sustainability and spreading the message of reducing plastic pollution in our communities.”
On Friday evening, AVID hosted more than 130 guests at its exclusive screening of the award-winning documentary Blue the Film at Hoyts Green Hills, followed by an engaging Q&A session with Tim Silverwood.
The wrap up the weekend, on Saturday 27 October, almost 40 locals came down to do their bit to #Take3fortheSea at Maitland Park, including Maitland Mayor Loretta Baker, MP Jenny Aitchison and Cr Robert Aitchison. Participants spent the morning collecting a surprising amount of rubbish from the park and surrounding areas, with the clean-up session followed by a full waste audit and discussion.
