LISTED developer Villa World is pushing further into the high-growth area of Logan with the launch of its 726-lot master planned community Killara early in 2017.
Pitched at young and growing families, bushland-fringed Killara is in semi-rural Logan Reserve, close to Logan’s many retail, business, educational and recreational amenities.
The community will be developed across 15 stages which will be surrounded by bushland, natural parklands and a network of walking trails.
A large onsite display village will give prospective buyers a wide choice of housing options available at Killara and is expected to be completed by early 2018.
The impending launch of Killara follows Villa World’s recent acquisition of 1500 housing lots at nearby Greenbank and the sell-out of Villa World’s The Sanctuary community at Woodlands, also in Logan.
Villa World general manager operations Michael Vinodolac said the company was well equipped to deliver affordable housing and land options in the flourishing and strategically located region.
“We now have a strong pipeline in Logan which we believe will continue to be a high growth area for affordable, family housing in years to come,” Mr Vinodolac said.
Mr Vinodolac said Logan Reserve presented an ideal balance between lifestyle and convenience.
“This will be a connected and vibrant community with easy access to the business and retail amenity of Logan City, while also being a peaceful place for young families because of its surrounding natural beauty,” he said.
“The location puts residents in the middle of Brisbane and the Gold Coast, opening up abundant opportunities for work and leisure pursuits.”
City of Logan Mayor Luke Smith said the launch of Killara would deliver the region a wide array of affordable housing options.
“We are a rapidly growing city that needs a steady supply of affordable housing choices for our residents and those who move here as Logan continues to prosper and expand,” Mayor Smith said.
“We are thrilled that Villa World has committed to delivering quality housing to our region.”
Killara’s master plan will deliver a diverse range of housing types surrounded by outdoor recreation facilities including adventure trails, playgrounds and barbecue areas.
The community is close to a range of public and private primary and secondary schools including Canterbury College and St Philomena School.
Villa World has started civil construction works on the Chambers Flat Road site and Killara’s Stage 1 lots are expected to be registered in mid 2017.
A temporary land sales centre opens in December 2016.
