Winter Warmers To Rock Maitland
August 3, 2022 | IN Media Release and News | BY AVID | 3 min read
Having shared the stage with global giants Bon Jovi and Stone Sour, this weekend on Sunday 7 August all eyes will turn to singer-songwriter Nick Rage as he takes the stage at AVID Property Group’s (AVID) Waterford community.
Committed to connecting the community with the broader region, Waterford’s Winter Warmers have brought hundreds of people together over the first Sunday of June and July to unwind to music by five- time ARIA award winner and three-time Logies winner Tim Harding and local artist Jessica Cain.
Having graced the stage with her acoustic and pop performance in July, Newcastle resident Jessica Cain said the Winter Warmers was a great opportunity for the community to support local artists and stimulate the music industry.
“Having started my career from the age of 15 writing and gigging at local pubs, I have been lucky enough to tour Australia with some big acts and to perform on many festival stages,” Ms Cain said.
“Performing at Waterford was a great experience with the sun shining over the grounds creating a warm winters morning for residents and the public to join me in singing along to some classic covers.
“As a Newcastle resident, I absolutely adore performing in the region and it’s fantastic communities like Waterford are investing in our creative sector and providing an opportunity for people to reconnect.”
AVID Project Director Nathan Huon said Winter Warmers was the perfect opportunity for three local artists to bring the Waterford community together to enjoy the onsite cafe and live music during the cooler months of the year.
“We are fortunate to create a space within our community for residents to truly connect with each other and invite friends and family to spend quality time outdoors, listening to live music, rugged up with their much-loved pets, and a hot beverage from The Kitchen at Waterford in hand,” Mr Huon said
“The past two Winter Warmers events were a huge success for the Waterford community, and we are excited to finish the series off with pop rock singer Nick Rage ahead of his new record launch in the coming months,” he said.
“The Hunter Region is fortunate to be home to an abundance of talented people, and like many sectors, the music industry has been hit hard over the past few years – that’s why I’m particularly pleased to bring this entertainment straight to Waterford’s backyard.”
The final Winter Warmers performance will kick off at 9am on Sunday 7 August, running until midday on the lawn outside the Waterford Sales and Information Centre.
