The rapid growth of the city of Maitland in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales is creating a new wave of opportunities for developers to service the booming population.
With a growth rate consistently above 2 per cent per annum, local council states one new family is moving to the sought-after city, every day 1.
The influx of families has brought the total number of residents in the area to 80,989 1, increasing demand for affordable housing solutions.
Situated in Chisholm, Waterford by AVID Property Group (AVID) – a 173ha masterplanned residential development has been a popular choice for home buyers in the region.
Waterford’s first ‘live larger’ land pre-release (six lots) in June 2018 sold out within 24 hours of going to market – making it some of the most sought-after land in the Lower Hunter.
Following form this success nine local and national builders have been selected to work on 22 display homes as part of the stunning new $20 million Display Village for the development.
AVID NSW Project Director Nathan Huon said the housing mix would appeal to a range of prospective home buyers.
“We are thrilled to announce our Waterford builders, who will play an important role in shaping a destination for home design and lifestyle visioning,” Mr Huon said.
“All home buyers’ needs are unique, which is why having a wide range of choice is important to us – whether visitors are looking for a family-sized home or a more compact home, Waterford Display Village will have something to suit everyone.
“The Waterford Display Village builders all have exceptional experience in home building and we know they will continue to bring their renowned craftsmanship and detailed knowledge to the Chisholm community – right here, in person,” Mr Huon said.
Phil Haigh, Director of Sales and Marketing at McDonald Jones Homes said they were excited to be involved in shaping the Waterford community after working with AVID on other successful projects.
“We have a lot of respect for AVID and enjoy working with them – they don’t just deliver a block of land, they always think how it will connect with the whole development – providing well-priced blocks of a good size.”
“Located half an hour from Newcastle and at the beginning of the famous Hunter Valley region, Waterford is not only a beautiful area, but also close to great schools, shops and other amenities.”
Mr Haigh agreed that display villages were a significant part of the decision-making process for new home buyers.
“Having a display village is an absolute must – nothing compares to walking through a finished product and imaging what it would be like to live there.”
Construction is scheduled to start in May 2019, with completion to be reached in late 2019.
