AVID helps renters build their dream home

With 60 per cent 1 of Australians dreaming of owning their own home, there is a demand for solutions to alleviate some of the financial barriers renters face when entering the property market.
There are various benefits available to first home buyers including Queensland’s $15,000 First Home Owners Grant and stamp duty concessions – however for some, the impact to their cost of living while simultaneously building and renting outweigh these benefits.
AVID Property Group (AVID) General Manager Queensland Bruce Harper said the additional cost of rent on top of construction and mortgage costs can be one the obstacles when looking to build.
“The average time it takes to build a home is four to eight months which is why the extra cost of rent during that period, on top of a mortgage and the cost of living, can cause a reasonable amount of financial stress,” Mr Harper said.
“The extra time and the associated costs it takes to build do add up, but the end result of having a home tailored to your lifestyle is worth the extra effort.”

Mr Harper said the AVID We Pay Your Rent – While you Build Reward could help alleviate some of the financial stress of building for buyers.
