Brentwood Forest’s Tucker Family Park has reached iconic status – drawing acknowledgement from KOMPAN Australia as one of the best of its almost 8,000 playgrounds scattered across Queensland.
The $1.4 million park – located in the heart of AVID Property Group’s Brentwood Forest – is the stunning result of a collaboration between AVID, playground design and installation firm Urban Play and KOMPAN.
Opening in February 2018 to widespread acclaim, its innovative design and custom-made features provide the ‘wow’ factor that has compelled videographers from KOMPAN’s global headquarters in Denmark to capture footage of the world-class facility.
AVID Property Group General Manager Queensland Bruce Harper said the worldwide recognition was exciting for Brentwood Forest, noting the park’s multiplatform space allowed children’s imaginations to run wild.
“Through Tucker Family Park, Urban Play and KOMPAN have delivered interactive and educational features that help children learn as they play,” Mr Harper said. “With a diverse range of recreational spaces, the park provides endless entertainment for children of all ages and abilities.
“The unique layout and range of features – such as the basketball court – encourage genuine, healthy interactions between families and friends.”
Using the best of German-built equipment, Tucker Family Park includes an Australian-first in playground technology – a four level 9.2-metre cube tower. It also features an outdoor gym, 18-metre slide and 1,600m² off-leash dog area.
KOMPAN Australia’s Jaydon Munn said Tucker Family Park’s innovative, intergenerational design allows it to cater to various age brackets.
“Tucker Family Park was chosen above all others as a showcase facility due to its bespoke first-ofits-kind innovative design,” Mr Munn said.
“It’s ideal for a community such as Brentwood Forest as the different pockets of equipment within the park provide outdoor space suitable for everyone to enjoy.”
Urban Play Managing Director Ben Urban agreed.
“We set out to design a physically and sensory stimulating play space for Brentwood Forest residents and members of the broader community that will be cherished for generations,” Mr Urban said. “AVID Property Group had a vision for a playground where families can run, laugh, climb and spend the day together whilst outdoors – Urban Play delivered and now everyone wants to see and experience it for themselves.”
