First home-owners urged to buy as property market surges
September 11, 2019 | IN Media Release and News | BY AVID | 3 min read
Buyers are being urged to get in quick as the property market in South East Queensland bounces back with predictions another boom is on the way.
The Brisbane and Ipswich markets have recorded strong growth in the last quarter, up 9% and 3% respectively1 according to data from Oliver Hume – a strong indication of the rising demand for properties in these areas.
AVID Property Group (AVID) General Manager Queensland Bruce Harper said all signs in the market show that now is the time to buy in the greater Brisbane area.
“We are currently operating in a buyer’s market – it is a great time for borrowers with the cash rate at a record low one per cent and leading economists predicting prices are only going to rise in the Brisbane area2,” Mr Harper said.
“Now it is easier than ever for banks to lend money – with borrowers only having to show they can afford a 2.5 per cent rise on their initial agreed interest rate.
“For ‘on the fence’ buyers now really is the time to take advantage of the market and invest in these strong growth areas in the outer suburbs of Greater Brisbane before the price hike.”
To help buyers make the most of the market, Brentwood Forest by AVID – a masterplanned community in the high growth suburb of Bellbird Park – has launched a $10,000* offer, the AVID Home Starter Reward.
Mr Harper said the AVID Home Starter Reward could help alleviate some of the financial stress of moving for buyers.
“One of the major bonuses of buying a new-built home is you can avoid any hidden expenses like renovation costs and know that all appliances and fittings in the home will be covered by warranty,” Mr Harper said.
“When buying a home, it’s the little upfront expenses that can cause financial stress – like moving costs and furnishing a home – for a first-home buyer.
“The AVID Home Starter Reward is in the form of a Visa Gift Card, which means eligible home buyers can spend it how they want or simply add it to their budget to help with daily living expenses.”
The AVID Home Starter Reward is available on selected blocks for eligible buyers and will be available until 6 October 2019. For full terms and conditions, visit www.brentwoodforest.com.au/startnew.
The participating Brentwood Forest blocks range from $164,000 to $257,000, with house and land packages starting from $383,000.
