AVID Property Group (AVID) has fast-tracked the launch of land at its Harmony community on the Sunshine Coast in response to market demand as the Federal Government’s HomeBuilder Grant – announced today – and buyer confidence skyrockets post-pandemic.
Increased enquiry has seen the Harmony community release new blocks of land ahead of schedule as the Government today announced a $688 million new homebuyers grant as it looks to stimulate the property market and boost construction jobs.
AVID’s General Manager Queensland Bruce Harper said the introduction of the HomeBuilder Grant on top of already increasing market confidence was bringing in unprecedented enquiry for land at Harmony.
“The HomeBuilder Grant is causing a rush amongst those keen to get a foot on the property ladder or secure a new home,” Mr Harper said.
“We have seen a substantial increase in enquiries and buyers coming through Harmony’s second display home village – Harmony Display World – in the last few weeks as restrictions have started easing, and we expect this to rise following the announcement today.”
To meet the increasing demand for housing on the Coast, AVID Property Group fast-tracked the release of 33 blocks of land in its Unity neighbourhood, including a handful of its popular 15 metre frontage blocks.
Catering to a variety of lifestyles and budgets, blocks in Unity range from $229,800 for a 250m2 block up to $$322,900 for a 450m2 block of land.
But, Mr Harper urged potential buyers to take advantage of the opportunity quickly to avoid missing out altogether.
“The Federal Government has announced around 27,500 grants of $25,000 nationwide over the next seven months, and I expect to see these grants move quickly.”
“This will be a catalyst for thousands of Australians to make the decision to embark upon purchasing their first home, upgrade to a new home, or downsize.
“The grant gives all buyers, not just first home buys, the opportunity to be able to purchase their dream home, as they stay in the property market or are getting into the market for the first time.
“It has been a tough few months for most, but this grant will ensure buyers aren’t set back as they look to get a foot in the door to the property market.”
“In the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic we saw enquiries drop as buyers were a little uncertain about the future. However, we have seen this shift almost 180 degrees with enquiries picking up significantly – back to the levels we were seeing in February before shutdowns occurred.
“People who had been holding and those who had pulled out of contracts because they were concerned about the future are back now and eager to get moving on their new home.”
Mr Harper said AVID was pleased to be able to contribute to long-standing tradie jobs on the Sunshine Coast.
“We look forward to continuing the partnership with our builders and contributing to the 14,000 direct jobs this grant will provide across the country.”
