The Daniel Morcombe Foundation’s charity auction project – Build it for the Kids home – has reached a significant milestone this week, with the project officially marking the halfway point.
On Tuesday 3 March, Bruce and Denise Morcombe joined Murphy Builders Director Brooke Bastien and AVID Property Group (AVID) Development Manager Anthony Demiris, to tour the home at Harmony and celebrate the project significant milestone.
The visit marks the Morcombe’s fifth official site visit and co-founder of the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, Bruce Morcombe said it was exciting to see the project come to life.
“We are thrilled to be celebrating such a significant milestone today for the Build it for the Kids project,” Mr Morcombe said.
“Denise and I can’t wait to see this home go to auction and proceeds used to help young victims of crime and vulnerable children in the wider Sunshine Coast community.”
AVID Development Manager Anthony Demiris said the community was looking forward to welcoming the future residents of the Build it for the Kids home later this year.
“The future owners of this home will know that by purchasing this incredible house, they have helped support young people and children across the Sunshine Coast and Australia,” Mr Demiris said.
“Even the smallest donation helps enable the foundation to educate children and equip them with the knowledge they need to recognise unsafe situations and, most importantly, learn how to respond.
“The red letterbox at the front of the property will be a nice reminder of the home’s ties to the Daniel Morcombe Foundation and the amazing work it does.”
The finished home – which is on track to go to auction in October – will feature four-bedrooms including a master suite with walk-in robe, two and a half bathrooms, a large alfresco area, an outdoor fire pit and a pool.
Murphy Homes Director Brooke Bastien said Murphy Homes was excited to be a part of this important project for the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.
“Last year we completed the Palmwoods headquarters “Daniel House” for the Foundation, and we wanted to support the Morcombe’s further and help raise funds for the integral work they do,” Ms Bastien said
“We invited many suppliers and trades to join the Build it for the Kids project and the community jumped on board! They all recognise the work Bruce and Denise do to help keep our kids safe”.
More than 70 local Sunshine Coast tradespeople and suppliers have supported the project to date. For regular construction and projects updates follow Build it for the Kids on Facebook.
