New turnkey homes ease pressure amidst supply shortage

In the wake of a HomeBuilder induced labour and building material supply shortage, one Bellbird Park community has found a unique solution for its buyers.
The Residences at Brentwood Forest by AVID Property Group (AVID) is a new series of turnkey homes available for purchase – a first for the community which traditionally sells greenfield blocks.
Selling 162 blocks at Brentwood Forest in the last 12 months, AVID Queensland General Manager Bruce Harper said the new building product was a result of customer feedback and a response to ongoing supply issues.
“AVID is driven by our buyers, so naturally this new offering was born from listening to our customers and asking them how we could simplify and streamline the buying process,” Mr Harper said.
“Some of our buyers expressed that while they want to build, they’re concerned about the building process, the availability of builders, risks and potential delays.
“As a result, we are providing a solution that delivers all the same benefits of building a new home, just without buyers having to go through the process,” he said.
Crafted and delivered by Villaworld Homes by AVID Property Group, the six stylish designs allow buyers to purchase a brand-new home without contracting a builder – a process proving to be difficult amidst supply and trade shortages.
According to Master Builders Queensland, several factors have come together to create a “perfect supply storm” including global demand for construction materials, COVID-induced supply chain issues and a local surge created by the HomeBuilder grant.
AVID General Manager Housing Peter Wood said that building supply is a taunting industry issue, but The Residences at Brentwood Forest provided some relief for buyers.
“The primary reason for introducing the new product at Brentwood Forest is that we identified a gap in the local market where there is no true offering of complete, turnkey homes,” Mr Wood said.
“We wanted to make building a new home easier for customers and we did so by creating a single contract, fixed price, house and land package.
“We know that supply is a big issue at the moment, so we’re fortunate to have our own team of builders available with Villaworld Homes by AVID Property Group,” he said.
Buyers who purchase one of The Residences have everything they need under one contract – a fixed price, turnkey home with no hidden costs delivered complete with a driveway, fencing, landscaping, window blinds and air conditioning.
Construction has begun on the first display home and is set for completion in April.
