WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE BAYSIDE REGION?

January 30, 2015 | IN Media Release and News | BY AVID | 2 min read

Redlands Bayside Living- Opportunity, Amenity and Lifestyle…What is it that makes a destination a great place to live? While the answer often depends on subjective opinion – there are some shared ‘pull factors’ people experience while in the market for a new home; opportunity, amenity and lifestyle.

Find a destination with this ideal combination and you have yourself a region in demand. A demand that has long been present in the Redlands Bayside region. An area, now considered as one of the most sought after places to live in southeast Queensland.

Opportunity:

Redland City Council recently adopted the catch phrase ‘open for business.’ A strategy based on solid economic development, underpinned by equally strong population growth. The Redlands region received a significant boost in the 2014/15 budget with a total of $259 million, including a $61.9 million capital program. Key spending areas include:

$14 million for local roads
Nearly $6 million for parks and open spaces
$13.7 million for marine foreshore infrastructure
Amenity:

The reasonably close proximity to both the city and the bay, along with an abundance of schools, shopping centres, sporting and leisure facilities and access to main arterial roads, means Redlands ticks all the boxes with home buyers. The region’s infrastructural advantages include:

Strong tertiary education and research sectors
Close proximity to internal air and seaports access to the bay islands including Russell, Lamb and Stradbroke Island.
Hundreds of multi-purpose parks, picnic areas and BBQs
Major shopping centres
Well-established road and rail transport links
Health Care including the Redlands public hospital and the Mater private hospital
Lifestyle:

Redlands today, is a vibrant place for growing families and is positioned only 40 minutes from Brisbane City. The region claims both the beach and bush with restaurants, cafes, art galleries, hiking trails, countless parks and fishing jetties.

On one hand you have access to the Bay Islands, including popular tourist destination Stradbroke Island, while scenic Mt Cotton, with it’s stunning bush walks and the award winning Sirromet winery, are all within close proximity.

There are now 550 families living in Villa World homes across Redlands. Find out why and explore Villa World’s stunning collection of homes and communities in the Bayside Living Magazine.
