More than 700 residents and locals of Greenbank are gearing up for a Family Fun Fair at Covella by
AVID Property Group (AVID) and Greenfields Development Company to celebrate the opening of a
new park on Saturday 15 July from 10am to 1pm.
With one third of land already dedicated to greenspace, Covella’s new Central Park, located in the
Heartland neighbourhood, will include a network of integrated pathways, recreation, and
environmental open space for families of Covella and wider Greenbank region to explore.
Attendees will be treated to a jam-packed event including an official ribbon-cutting ceremony with
Logan City Councillor Natalie Willcocks and AVID General Manager Queensland Anthony Demiris
to officially open the park.
AVID Queensland General Manager Anthony Demiris said the park opening was an exciting
milestone, not just for Covella, but for the wider Greenbank community.
“The new park has a great range of amenities including a climbing tower, slides and swings, pump
track, half basketball court and informal ‘kickabout’ games area for kids and adults to enjoy,” Mr
Demiris said.
“Whether you want to enjoy a picnic, take the dog for a walk or you just want to have a game of soccer
with your friends, Covella’s Central Park will be the go-to destination for local families.”
AVID Executive General Manager and Chairman of the joint venture with Greenfields Development
Company Bruce Harper said the 6,500m2 of greenspace will offer more than just beautiful spaces for
the community, with places to connect with family and friends or meet new people.
“We wanted to create a space that accommodates both active play and rest spots, so new trees,
shade sails and shelters over picnic areas have been installed throughout the greenspace,” Mr Harper
said.
“Not only will the Central Park provide exciting features for all ages, but it’s positioning at the highpoint
of the central neighbourhood offers the perfect place for all residents to enjoy the views and amenities
of one of the most scenic parts of the community.”
Residents Stephanie and Nick Lawrence have lived in Covella for the past four years and look forward
to attending the Central Park opening with their three children.
“Nick and I grew up in the Greenbank region so it’s special watching our three children grow up and
make the same memories we did,” Ms Lawrence said.
