A residential community in Chisholm saw over a thousand residents and locals join their Christmas
Carols event on Saturday 10 December which showcased local talent and supported the nearby fire
service.
The event held at Waterford by AVID Property Group (Waterford) included a live band alongside
carols performed by St Aloysius Primary School choir, and dances from the boys and girls at Starz on
Stage dance school.
AVID Property Group NSW Project Director Nathan Huon said the annual event is very important to
residents and always draws big crowds with word spreading through the community quickly.
“Every year the event gets bigger and better, we are proud to provide opportunities for the community
to come together and make new connections.
“Entry to the event was a gold coin donation with all proceeds going to the Thornton Rural Fire
Service. We are pleased to share we raised just over $2,000 for this worthy cause,” said Mr Huon.
“It’s always wonderful seeing how much this event means to people, word gets out fast and we see
residents’ family and friends coming from surrounding areas to celebrate the end of the year.”
Attendees enjoyed a free sausage sizzle, ice cream and other sweet treats, jumping castles, face
painting, a photobooth, DJ, circus entertainment, a bubble station and photos with Christmas
characters.
The youngest guests also got to say hello to the Thornton fire department’s firefighters and were
thrilled by a special visit from Santa and his elves.
“Waterford has always been a hub of festivities for the community whether it’s Easter, Christmas, book
week, or just a live music event on a Sunday there’s always something happening.
“At AVID Property Group we have a strong passion for bringing people together and regular
neighbourhood events and activities are just one way we can achieve this,” said Mr Huon.
The merry festivities at Waterford go beyond the carols night, as they are also hosting a Christmas
Lights competition for residents with numerous entries to date.
Many community members have donated to Waterford’s Salvation Army Christmas Appeal helping to
give locals in need a brighter Christmas.
